Buddies & Barbecue, Etc.

Saturday (July 17) will be "buddies and barbecue" day. Please invite a friend to try dragonboating with us that morning and to join us for a barbecue picnic afterwards.

It would be good to have a general headcount, so let me know if you're bringing someone to practice that day. And please let Kathi know what you could bring for the picnic. We've got the basics (Boca burgers, beer, and bean dip) covered so far (cookies, too!).

Lisa's birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and Carolyn will host a Paddlefish Birthday Party for her. Details are forthcoming, but the party will probably be held the first full weekend in August (August 6/7/8) and will involve strawberry daiquiris.

Speaking of Lisa: are you ready for more Giant Eagle cards? Lisa will bring them to practice this week.

Stay tuned for the location of Saturday's buddies-and-barbecue: we may be over on the island. Ben is checking to see which location is available to us.

I am bringing a buddy (and beer) next Saturday. Do you mean location for the picnic, Kit? I presume we still come to Millvale for practice.

And I will have Giant Eagle cards with me on Wednesday, so bring your check books.

We are parking and picnicking at Washington's Landing and paddling from Millvale on Saturday. So please meet at Washington's Landing at 9 on Saturday, on the dock. We'll have a short orientation to dragon boating there and then shuttle people (on the Peggy Cronin) over to Millvale.

We'll take the boats out from Millvale, paddle, and then return the boats to Millvale. (We will drop off some Paddlefish at the island on the way back, so they can get the grills going. Any volunteers?)

The Peggy Cronin will shuttle people from Millvale back to Washington's Landing for a barbecue picnic around 11 AM.

Please let me know by Friday if you are bringing a buddy so we have a rough head count.

And if you haven't already done so, please let Kathi know what you'd like to bring for the picnic.

See you all at practice tomorrow night!

I have plenty of paper stuff left over from previous parties, so I will bring it.
Let's not forget barbecue coals, starter, and matches.
And I will also bring some barbecue implements.
