Festival Update
RACES RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 23RD AT MILLVALE.

A race day schedule is posted on the Pittsburgh Dragonboat Festival site; please see www.pittsburghdragonboatfestival.org/images/dragon%20boat%20races.pdf.
The schedule includes times for the novice/community team heats (whoo-hoooo: Perkins Eastman vs the Data Angels in the very first heat!) and for the masters/open mix/men's/women's. Note that the women's and men's races are later in the day than originally posted. If this will pose a problem for you, please let Ben, Pauline, and Chuck know right away.
Note that any weather-related changes will be posted on the Festival homepage (www.Pittsburghdragonboatfestival.org) on Friday.

1 day away from the races! We have a record number of teams this year, 25 total! All team captains, steersmen and drummers must be at a captains meeting at 10am near the race registration area. (CASA and MVI should have a representative at this meeting while your teams are practicing)
We do have an after party location!! Nakama Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar on 16th st and Carson in the South Side. Bring your athletes pass (picked up at registration) to Nakama after the races to receive one free bar drink and 10% discount on any food purchased. Waiting time for tables can be 1-2hours but they will take small reservations. They have a Sushi Bar where the wait is shorter.
We are on rain or shine. We are watching closely the level of the river, if the flow comes up substantially from incoming rains we will have to cancel. Friday at 3pm will be our first go/no go time but we will likely not know for sure until Saturday at 7am. Cancellations will be posted first to the websites at ThreeRiversRowing.org and PittsburghDragonBoatFestival.org, I will also send an email to this email list if it is canceled. At this point we do not have a rain date for the races, there is no rain date for the festival. If we do cancel we would like to set a rain date but will not do so until after this weekend. Please let your crews know to check one of these websites for cancellations, it will be prominent on the home page.
If you have not yet please check the race schedule posted online at the websites listed above. Your entire team must register no later than one hour before your first scheduled race. Registration will take place at the back of the festival grounds near the dragon boats (cross over 2 small bridges once in the park).
