Ten Commandments of Dragon Boating
Asian Week posted ten commandments of dragonboating in time for the San Francisco DB Festival: http://news.asianweek.com/news/view_article.html?article_id=cc4c409c6a911feb4ea13150b9fffa02 . None begins with "thou shalt not"!
Any commandments you'd add to that list? (I don't see any mention of butt pads, for instance....)

For those of us who have paddled in the SF DB Festival, one commandment would be:
"Thou shalt not complain about the weather at Treasure Island (the current venue) when you could be stuck racing in a fog bank in Lake Merced (the old venue)."
The other one I'd pose would be:
"Thou shalt not finish ahead of the DragonMax Masters team".
Just a little shout-out to the oldsters on our team, who successfully defended their title today against Wasabi and JetStart.
Oh, and it could be construed to be a challenge to my P-fish friends! :-)
well I definitely think there needs to be something along the lines of:
"Thou shalt consume copious quantities of alcohol following each and every race"
Congratulations to DragonMax!
I'm just going to add to Jonathan's commandment:
"Thou shalt sing 'Dancing Queen' after consuming copious quantities of alcohol following each and every race."
I think we already follow those two commandments on DragonMax...along with the traditional salsa dance during warm-ups. And, yes, we're sober when we do it.
Eric-- you're an inspiration. Ada and Lori-- we could use some salsa dancing during warm-ups. Sarah, Kit, and I will lead the "Dancing Queen" sing along. Are yinz with me?
Salsa, hula, cha-cha...pretty much anything that ends in -a. I blame our 61-year-old lead stroke...the leader of our nut farm, grandmother of two, and occasional pole dancer...
pole dancer? that's impressive!
Carolyn, I think we've found a winner in the 'what dance to choose for the team warm up' competition...
now if we could only install a pole on our dock :)
Just as long as you're not leading the P-fish, Jonathan. It's a visual that none of us are ready to see...
