Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Festival 2006

This is a great shot of the men's race: click on it so you can see it in an enlarged view and look at those faces! No wonder the Pfish men won!

Thanks to everyone involved in making yesterday a great time for paddlers. If you've got feedbaack on what worked and what needs to be worked on for next year, please let Judy D and/or me know (now, while it's fresh!) so we can channel that to TRRA as they start planning for 2007.

Special thanks to Bob and Laurie for organizing the post-race party, and to Richard for covering all those pitchers of beer! Thanks to David Bennett for the photo above; if you've got pictures you'd like to share, please post them here or send them on to me for posting.

There's a very nice photo of Kate and Jeanne on the dock in this morning's Post-Gazette (local/region section), but I can't find it online! If anyone can find a link to it, lemme know.

hmmm - can't find it online either... although I did find a link to a news article announcing the chance to 'build dragon boats at the Children's Museum'
Wonder how long it's going to take them and whether we get to paddle in it afterwards???

Aaaaaaaaanyway. Huge Paddles Up to all involved in organizing yesterday's festivities. It was a lot of fun - especially the post-paddle partying :)

As to suggestions - heard from a couple of people in visiting teams that they really missed having medals - and I'm all about a big closing ceremony. but maybe the party was just that?!

Congrats on another successful festival. Still hoping to make next year's festival (camera in tow, of course), but I'd settle for hosting a few of the P-fish here in SF during our festival. Let's hope I survive this weekend's hosting duties... :-O
