Thanksgiving Practice on Wednesday
This week, and this week only, we will practice on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Practice will be at 6:30 at the MILLVALE facility, not the Washington's Landing facility. The group that normally practices on Wednesdays at Millvale cancelled their practice, so the ever-lovable ergs will be available.
A 160 lb. person would have to run at a moderate pace for four hours, swim for five hours, or walk 30 miles to burn off the average 3,000-calorie Thanksgiving Day meal. So, if you practice on Wednesday and on Saturday and perform some other exercise, like running, on Thursday or Friday, you'll probably negate all the damage associated with your Thanksgiving meal. We will discuss leftovers later.
Oops!!!! I just read more of the article: Many people start by snacking throughout the day and that combined with the meal can lead to a total caloric intake of 4,500. So, my statement should read: "some other exercise, like running, on Thursday and Friday..." OK, you shouldn't exercise four days in a row, but you get the idea. Feel free to hate me.
